Here's a little thread to help you new mods or even remind the old ones how to deal with forum threads and posts in certain situations.
This is an essential piece of basic information that ALL mods must read and understand.

Thread Circumstances :
[1.1] When to close a thread
[1.2] When to delete a thread
[1.3] When to merge a thread
[1.4] When to move a thread

Post Circumstances :

[1.1]
When to close a thread

  • If a thread reaches 2000 posts. A new thread may then be created with a ver.2 or something after it.
  • If a thread has no point to it.
  • If a thread is too similar or the same as one already existing. Also provide the link to the already existing thread for them to visit. On the other hand, if the thread already existing hasn't been posted in for a long time, you may simply close that thread instead. Another alternative is if you merge the thread with an already existing one.

[1.2]
When to delete a thread

  • If a thread is inappropriate.
  • If it insults someone whether they are a member of our site or not. (This does not include giving your opinion on a singer, actor or something of the like as long as it isn't fuelled by anger or hate. Talking about someone who did a terrible thing such as murder is different as long as it is sensible. Still, please be mindful of the difference between having an opinion and down-right flaming).
  • If it degrades our site.

[1.3]
When to merge a thread

  • If it is the same or similar to one already existing.

[1.4]
When to move a thread

  • If a thread is in the wrong section. Move it to the appropriate category, leaving a note in the form of a post that you have moved the thread for said reason so that the thread-creator can see what they have done.
